* What is a DENIER?
A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread used to make stockings and tights.
The lower the denier number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker it is, and less skin is visible.
On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber tights and stockings, in 50 and 100 denier, which barely reveal any skin. They are commonly worn in the fall and winter.
Low-density stockings and tights are typically worn during the spring and summer season. They can be worn throughout the rest of the year, for example for ceremonies, since the fineness of the stockings makes them more elegant.
Higher numbers, 40, 70..., are usually used for autumn-winter.
