The main component of Hebe is Argireline®, a molecularly engineered hexapeptide specifically designed to combat wrinkles and expression lines. Muscles contract when they receive neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, which are released through a complex called SNAREs.
This continuous contraction promotes the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines; while the relaxation of these muscles helps prevent these wrinkles. Argireline® competes for a place in this complex, and once it achieves this, it causes the release of acetylcholine to be less effective and frequent, thus preventing severe muscle contraction by causing it to relax.
